The Major Land and Waterforms

Blacktide Ocean – Major ocean west of Wildemar and east of Rokugan and Illia.

Deepmarine Ocean – The ocean northwest of Rokugan and southeast of Ter’Arkna.

Great Northern Sea – The ocean north of Wildemar and Illia.

Illia – The northeastern continent, comprised of ten provinces, plus the Utic Islands.

Rokugan – The southeastern continent, comprised of four provinces, plus the Mantis Islands.

Sea of Storms – The ocean surrounding the Hurricane Islands, south of Ter’Arkna and Wildemar.

Ter’Arkna – The central continent, comprised of seven provinces, plus Farwind, Volgavia and the Hurricane Islands.

Wildemar – The western continent, comprised of eighteen provinces, plus Illdu, Ice Island, First Wood, Tremel, Baux Island and the Midnight Isles.

Regions & Seas

Arkillia – A province of western Wildemar, desolate and mostly uninhabitable.

Arkmar Sea – The sea between Ter’Arkna and Wildemar on Ter’Arkna’s west side.

Armathia – A province in northeastern Illia.

Asinara – A province in southern Illia, controlled by Soladaran humans.

Banana Coast – A jungle-filled province of eastern Wildemar. The homeland of the Vanara.

Bel’Aris – A province in central Wildemar, largely controlled by elves. Home of the merfolk.

Baux Island – An island off the western coast of Wildemar, home of Halflings.

Carotha Reach – A province in the northeast of Ter’Arkna, controlled by humans.

Carothian Sea – The sea north of Ter’Arkna between it and the continental divide between Wildemar and Illia.

Delamar – A province in the southwest of Ter’Arkna, controlled by Delamaran humans. The major city of Caristae is here.

Druids’ Sound – The channels of water between the islands of First Wood and Tremel.

Embarelli – A province of Wildemar, controlled by humans. The major city of T’vii is here.

Fairfax – A province of southeastern Illia, controlled by Soladaran humans. The major port of Arlington is here.

Farwind – An island between Ter’Arkna and Illia, controlled by gnomes.

Fields of Fire – A province of central Wildemar, largely composed of wasteland. The site of several major historical battles.

Fire Marshes – A tropical marshland province in southwestern Wildemar, largely unexplored.

First Wood – A region consisting of several islands northwest of Wildemar, primarily inhabited by druids and heavily forested.

Fyrelas – A tropical region in southern Wildemar, largely unexplored.

Garian – A province in the north of Ter’Arkna, controlled by humans. The major port of Northport is here.

Great Wood – A province in western Wildemar, controlled by elves. The elven capitol of Lyawn is here. Halflings have also been permitted to build a major port for their own people here, called Sally Ho.

Green Vale – A heavily forested province of Wildemar, controlled by elves. Some elves believe this is their original homeland.

Gulf of Chromine – The sea surrounded by Asinara, Kasos, Ligure, Fairfax and Farwind.

Gulf of Volgavia – The sea between Volgavia and Wildemar.

Hurricane Islands – A desolate, windswept set of islands in the Sea of Storms. No one voluntarily lives here.

Ice Island – An island in the Great Northern Ocean, controlled by dwarves although few people live here.

Ikaria – A province in northern Illia, controlled by Tieflings.

Illari – A province in northeastern Wildemar, controlled by Illari humans.

Illaric Sea – The ocean surrounding Illdu.

Illdu – An island in the Illaric Sea, controlled by Illari humans.

Kasos – A province in eastern Illia, controlled by Soladaran humans.

Kolpas – A province in eastern Illia.

Kor’Syrah – A province in southwestern Wildemar, controlled by elves.

Levant, The – A province in central Illia, controlled by Soladaran humans. The capitol of the Soladaran Empire, Feliciti, is here.

Lighthammer Bay – The bay in Ter’Arkna, leading to Lake Arkna.

Ligure – A province in southeastern Illia, controlled by Soladaran humans.

Mantishima (Mantis Islands) – An island chain north of Rokugan, controlled by Mantis Clan humans.

Mareth – A province in western Wildemar, partly controlled by elves and partly inhabited by nomadic humans.

Marmara – A province in northern Illia, partly controlled by Illari humans.

Midnight Isles – An island chain in the Blacktide Ocean, southwest of Wildemar and east of Rokugan. Inhabited by humans with their own culture separate from most other humans.

North Bay – A bay at the north side of Wild Lathe.

Northmark – A province in the north of Wildemar. The homeland of the dwarven races.

Okushiro – The northwestern province of Rokugan, controlled by Unicorn clan humans.

Osumishoto – The northeastern province of Rokugan, controlled by Crane clan humans.

Rokugan – The southwestern province of Rokugan, controlled by Tiger clan humans. The capitol of Rokugan, Tyanjing, is here.

Silver Marshes – A province of Wildemar. So named for the silvery fog that rises from the abundant marshland.

Silver Straits – The sea between Wildemar and Ter’Arkna on Ter’Arkna’s northwest side; specifically between the Silver Marshes and Garian.

South Shore – A tropical paradise on the southern part of Ter’Arkna, partly controlled by humans but with a very diverse population.

Straits of Mantis – The ocean around Mantishima.

Sunlit Channel – The channel between Farwind and Ter’Arkna.

Takasaki – The southeastern province of Rokugan, controlled by Scorpion Clan humans.

Telgar – A province in northeastern Wildemar, controlled by Illari humans.

Ter’Illia – A province that forms the continental divide between Illia and Wildemar, controlled by Illari humans. The capitol of Ter’Illia, Rhadagastan is here.

Terra Arkna – A province in central Ter’Arkna, controlled by Arknan humans. The capitol of the Arknan Empire, Ter’Arkna (city), is here.

Tremel – An island region west of Wildemar, controlled by dwarves.

Utic Islands – An island chain northeast of Illia and northwest of Wildemar, controlled by Dragonborn.

Valdimar – A province in the west of Ter’Arkna. There are several major cities here, including Valdimar (city), Seatide, Blackthorn and Knetic Woods.

Veldin – A province in central Ter’Arkna, controlled by Arknan humans.

Volgavia – An island in the Gulf of Volgavia and Sea of Storms. Controlled by Volgavian humans. The major city of High Volgavia is here.

West Bay – The large bay in Westmark.

Westmark – A province in the northwest of Wildemar, mostly controlled by dwarves.

Wild Lathe – A province of northern Wildemar, partly controlled by dwarves. Very inhospitable and mountainous. The city of Moon Shadow is here.

Wild Run – A province in the east of Wildemar, mostly controlled by elves. The major city of Bela’Mor is here.

Cities & Locales

Bela’Mor – A major elven city in the province of Embarelli, the farthest northern major elven establishment.

D’nari – A city in the western wall of the Silver Marshes.

Dramir – A moderately sized city in Embarelli province.

Ector Gate – A city in the eastern wall of the Silver Marshes; one of two entry points between the Kingdoms of Luxor and Khiye.

Fa’resplana – A city in the Silver Marshes known for fashion and a strong thieves guild.

Hel – The capitol of the Drow, underground in Wild Lathe province.

Ibannon – One of the four Holy Pilgrimage cities of the Church of Arkna. Located in the Silver Marshes.

K’sein – A city on the Sable River in the Silver Marshes, known for textiles.

Kroix – A testing ground for new Arknans, located in the Silver Marshes. Frequently beseiged by barbarians from the north. Very dangerous area.

Luxor City – A major metropolis in the Silver Marshes, known for fashion, gambling, prostitution and other red district pursuits.

Murond – One of the four Holy Pilgrimage cities of the Church of Arkna. Located in Valdimar province.

Nime Monastery – A cloister founded by Arknans in the Silver Marshes. The repository of many holy relics.

Sandoral – A large port city in Embarelli province.

Shiba – City at the crossroads of the River of Stars and the Slate River. Astronomical Observatory.

Ter’Arkna – The fourth largest city in the world, and the capitol of the Arknan Empire. Located in Terra Arkna.

T’vii – The third largest city in the world, and one of the Holy Pilgrimage cities of the Arknan Church. Located in Embarelli province.

Rivers, Lakes, Marshes & Swamps

Fain, Farn and Firth Rivers – Small tinkling streams in the southern Silver Marshes.

Glass River – An exceptionally clean and clear watercourse in the northern Silver Marshes.

Lake Arkna – A lake at the center of Ter’Arkna. It is connected to the sea by Lighthammer Bay.

Lake of Leaves – A poplar-leaf shaped lake in the Silver Marshes. The lake is covered with fallen leaves.

Luxor River – A wide, deep shipping river in the southern Silver Marshes. Luxor City sits at its mouth into the Lake of Leaves.

River of Stars – A slow, major river in the northern Silver Marshes on which sits the city of Ibannon. At night, the stars reflected in the river are particularly bright. Erosion patterns commonly create star-shaped rocks on the river’s bottom and natural deposits of silver are eroded away and exposed here.

Rolling River – A deep, swift, windy river in the southern Silver Marshes.

Sable River – A muddy river with many islands in the southern Silver Marshes. Runs through K’sein.

Silver River – A small and weak river that was once the source of the marshes in the Silver Marshes.

Slate River – A river in northern Silver Marshes that runs a dark grey color.

Western Run – A deep and narrow river flowing from Wild Lathe and the Dwarfhome Mountains to the Lake of Leaves.

Wild Run – A dangerous, rapids-filled watercourse flowing from Wild Lathe to the Western Run.

Mountains and Other Earthen Features

Mines of Wild Lathe – Dwarven mines under the Silver Marshes and Wild Lathe regions, also known as “The Deepening”. Abandoned and shunned although rumors of treasure persist.

Silver Mountains – Mountain range that separates the Silver Marshes from Illia.

Other Landmarks

Isle of Twilight – An island in the Lake of Leaves on which the Nime Monastery is constructed.
